항저우/항주 날씨 What's the weather like in Hangzhou?

서호와 같은 세계문화유산을 가진 항주는 친환경 녹색도시로 1년 365일 방문객이 끊이지 않는다. 

특히나 이번 9월 G20 개최 이후 그 수가 더더욱 많아지는 것을 느낀다.

항주에서 사계절을 모두 지내본 경험으로 날씨에 대해 이야기해보려 한다.

Hangzhou is one of the famous tourist spots in China, and ever since the G20 summit it's been more popular than ever.

I have now spent in Hangzhou for four seasons, so I thought I would be able to give you some tips about the weather here.

기본적으로 항주는 계절을 불문하고 매우 습하다.

여름을 제외한 봄, 가을, 겨울 모두 비가 자주 오며, 특히 봄에서 여름으로 넘어가는 5~6월에 집중적으로 비가 오므로

단기간 여행을 한다면 그 시기는 피하는 것이 좋다. (비가 얼마나 오든 상관 없다면 괜찮지만)

Basically in Hangzhou it is very humid through out the year.

Except for summer, it is always raining (of course there are no-rain days though), especially in May & June.

If you are planning to travel here then you should avoid those two months.

봄 Spring

항주를 가장 만끽할 수 있는 계절.

세계문화유산인 서호를 비롯하여 나무와 꽃이 만연한 자연의 도시 항주는 

봄이 가장 예쁜 계절일 수밖에 없다. 

4월 중순즈음부터 시작되는 봄의 기운은 4월 말~5월 중순에 걸쳐 가장 좋은 날씨를 선보인다.

기온은 섭씨 20~30도 사이로 가볍게 입고 다닐 수 있을 정도.

이 시기에는 등산이나 바이킹을 즐기는 것도 좋다.

It is the best season to enjoy Hangzhou.

With the west lake, there are trees/woods and water everywhere, so spring is truly the best time for travellers.

Start from mid April it is quite warm and you could see the clear sky.

It will probably be around 20~30℃, very suitable for biking or hiking.

여름 Summer 

왠만큼 더위를 즐길 자신이 없다면 여름의 항주는 최악이 될 수 있다.

5월 말 정도면 이미 여름옷을 입기 시작하지만

앞서 말했다시피 그 시기에는 비가 자주 오므로 간절기 형태를 지닌다.

완연한 여름은 7월즈음에 시작되며 여름에는 비가 자주 오지 않는다.

7~8월 한낮 평균 기온은 35도 정도이지만 체감온도는 50도를 넘나드므로 

선크림은 기본, 태양을 무척 좋아하지 않는 한 창피함을 무릅쓰고 현지인처럼 양산을 쓰지 않고서는 다니기 힘들다.

For me, it was the worst season ever! even worse than Egypt in Africa.

(I really hateeeeee Summer actually.)

The Sun burns and in the mid-summer it will be over 35℃(you might feel it's over 50℃).

It is really hard to stand still for a minute under the sun at mid-day without sweating.

가을 Autumm/Fall 

9월 말~10월 초 정도 날씨가 서늘해지기 시작하며

봄과 같이 쾌청한 날씨를 즐길 수 있다. 

가을에도 비가 종종 오므로 방수가 되는 옷이 있다면 도움이 된다.

From September it will be getting cooler and nicer!

Occasionally it rains. Prepare waterproff jacket would be good.

겨울 Winter

항주는 중국에서도 남방, 위도상으로 한국보다 아래에 위치하고 있어 

무작정 겨울은 한국보다 따뜻할 것이라 오해하기 쉽다. 

더군다나 기온이 영하로 떨어지는 날이 거의 없어 더욱 오해하기 쉽지만,

항주는 기본적으로 습하기 때문에 겨울또한 여름만큼이나 체감온도는 배가 된다.

예를 들어 일기예보상 기온이 서울보다 10도씩 높을 수도 있지만 실제는 서울과 비슷하다 느낄정도다.

그러므로 겨울에 여행올 계획이라면 최대한 레이어링하여 두툼하게 껴입는 것을 추천한다.

You might think it would be mild and warm here in winter since it is in the Southern part of China,

but don't get mislead about it. It is freeeeeeeeezing!

It does not often fall down below zero, but as I said above, 

it is always humid and you might feel freaking cold if you come from warmer countries(or even upper side of China).

Get warm yourself and don't get cold!
